Yin yoga focuses on the deep connective tissues in your body, such as fascia, ligaments, and joints. It's a slower, more meditative practice that encourages you to look inward and become aware of both your mental state and your body's physical sensations. You hold poses for longer than in other yoga styles, which allows you to stretch and lengthen tissues that aren't often used. This practice also teaches you to breathe through discomfort and observe your thoughts.
