Intraoral TMJ Massage
Description
First visits must be no less than 60 minutes to allow time for a full initial assessment of your jaw. This appointment will be an assessment followed by a treatment of the jaw and associated compensating structures and tissues. Intraoral TMJ massage is a specialty form of massage where the therapist carefully massages inside the client's mouth (wearing gloves) to better release the muscles acting on the jaw. Those who deal with TMJ dysfunction disorders or have jaw pain can really benefit from this type of massage. Jaw pain can manifest as pain in your teeth or as ear pain. If you have either ear or tooth pain as well as jaw pain, it is recommended to see your dentist or doctor BEFORE MASSAGE to make sure that the pain is not associated with an infection in your teeth, gums, or ears. Massage cannot be safely performed with an active infection in the area.
