More of a relaxing flow to help combat stress, insomnia, and issues with general lack of well-being. Relaxation massage helps to calm the brain's signals to your body, decreasing muscle tension and restricted patterns of movement.

Relaxation Massage

An ancient form of energy healing that originating in Japan, Reiki is technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy", or "chi" flows through us constantly.

Other cultures around the world have similar philosophies dating back centuries. Traditional Chinese medicine has the concept of qi, a vital life force energy that flows through living things. Indian philosophy offers the concept of prana, a life-giving energy force that flows through your chakras.

Pairing reiki with massage treats the whole person, including body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

Reiki Massage

Not quite deep tissue, therapeutic work is generally deeper and more specific than relaxation work, but it is still relaxing! We still have to work with the nervous system, so therapeutic work is tailored to each client's tolerance. Some people respond to considerably more pressure than others, it is never a 'one-size fits all' service. 

Our skilled therapists are trained to meet you at your therapeutic depth tolerance, and have different ways of releasing deep tissues without using more elbows (for those who don't like that). Please communicate pressure tolerance to your therapist as needed.

Therapeutic Massage

This is a full hot stone relaxation treatment using stones for the entire massage, not just as a therapeutic addition to a small area (as in a therapeutic massage). Hot stones are fantastic for relaxation and decreasing muscle tension via heat therapy.

Hot Stone Massage

If you ever just want MORE CUPPING, then this one is for you. I generally use some cups in treatments when indicated to treat specific issues, but if you just want all the cups, all the time, then this is the treatment for you. No extra cost. Cups can be used both deeply therapeutically, and for relaxation and lymphatic drainage purposes.

Myofascial cupping adds the benefits of increasing O2 and nutrient delivery to injured/tight tissues to facilitate faster healing. Buckle-up for a more wordy explanation...

It works to decrease tension in muscle fibers and connective tissue (fascia) by decreasing central nervous system activity with deep negative (vacuum) pressure to separate tissue layers, generating a relaxing stretch response, while stimulating circulation. Cups have the added benefit of releasing metabolic wastes that are trapped in inflamed tissues. This occurs when the vacuum pressure of the cups lifts areas of compromised tissue to allow for efficient drainage of wastes back into your circulatory system. This does not happen as easily with compression of tissues, as in traditional manual massage.

Myofascial Cupping

This is a feather-light treatment designed to drain excess fluids from your tissues. It is great for swelling post-injury or surgery, issues with edema (unrelated to kidney disease, congestive heart failure, or lymphedema), and migraines.

Lymphatic Drainage

For those who cannot lie on a table comfortably, we offer treatments on a massage chair to help you get your well-deserved massage. These treatments are performed clothed and are recommended as a modification for those who cannot be comfortable lying down.

Chair Massage

First visits must be no less than 60 minutes to allow time for a full initial assessment of your jaw. This appointment will be an assessment followed by a treatment of the jaw and associated compensating structures and tissues.

Intraoral TMJ massage is a specialty form of massage where the therapist carefully massages inside the client's mouth (wearing gloves) to better release the muscles acting on the jaw. Those who deal with TMJ dysfunction disorders or have jaw pain can really benefit from this type of massage. Jaw pain can manifest as pain in your teeth or as ear pain. If you have either ear or tooth pain as well as jaw pain, it is 
recommended to see your dentist or doctor BEFORE MASSAGE to make sure that the pain is not associated with an infection in your teeth, gums, or ears. Massage cannot be safely performed with an active infection in the area.

Intraoral TMJ Massage

Deep tissue massage focuses on softening surface tissues to penetrate to the deeper tissues and fascia underneath. It is generally a slow, deep pressure treatment. You may need to activate some muscles to make sure we're getting to deeper fibers properly. This is the heaviest pressure massage! Expect elbows, deep breathing, muscle activation to allow for active release of muscle fibers, and verbal check-ins. This is not a 'lie down and have a nap' treatment!
